Jonnathan’s talk will examine the long history of the relationship between humanity and the cosmic cycles as well as the relationship with the sky. This has lasted from the dawn of human history in the Old Stone Age through ancient cultures in Mesopotamia like Assyria, Babylonia and Egypt. Also Greece, Rome, Asia and South America. It will look into Medieval times, the Age of Enlightenment and to the modern era where these influences continue to have an effect. It’s a journey through economic and cultural cosmology and its derivative astrology.

Jonnathan Jones
Jonathan H Jones has spent most of his career in international commerce, travelling globally to establish businesses and negotiate partnerships for multinational companies, with a particular focus on emerging markets. More recently, he has worked in international development with Save the Children. His long-standing interests in history, anthropology, cosmology, and astrology have informed both his professional work and his study of ancient cultures in China, India, and South-East Asia. Jonathan holds an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology and has worked with Nick Campion, Bernadette Brady, and Liz Greene, among others. He co-authored The Living Sky: Cosmic Dynamics and Human Economics, a study of economic cosmology and the development of astrology from prehistory to the present, with Kate White. Jonathan lives and works in London, while US-born Kate lives and works in Bournemouth.
