19:00 The Astrological Sappho: How an Ancient Poet Found Her home Among the Stars
Sappho of Lesbos (c. 630 BCE), the ancient Greek lyric poet of sensual longing — hailed by Plato as the “Tenth Muse” — remains a figure of enduring fascination, myth, and ambiguity. With much of her life lost to time and only poetic fragments surviving, her legacy has been shaped as much by projection and speculation as by fact. This talk offers an exploratory look at Sappho’s mythic imprint through an astrological lens. Drawing on well-known chart examples where the asteroid Sappho is prominently placed, we’ll explore themes of erotic expression, artistic voice, and sexual power — especially where sexuality becomes a site of performance, scandal, or resistance. Expect heavenly prose, seduction, and a sojourn into the shadow side of commodified desire.
