A review of the Whole Sign House System: from the philosophical angle to the more practical aspects of using this ancient technique.

Synopsis: This talk will focus on the question ‘Why use the Whole Sign House System?’, from a philosophical angle to the more practical aspects of using this ancient technique of dealing with houses in astrology. This will be also be explained and examined with chart examples and my own personal experience when choosing the house system you end up working with in everyday astrological use.

Biography: Demian is the astrologer for Kindred Spirit and Mind Body Spirit magazines, he is also a teacher and consultant at the College of Psychic Studies, and is the resident astrologer at Watkins Books.

Synopsis: Venus is the brightest body in our sky after the Sun and the Moon.  It tonight talk I will look into space missions to Venus, how successful or unsuccessful they where and where was Venus and other planets at moment of launch.

Biography: Jadranka Coic  was born and raised in Croatia and, in 1991, moved to London. She works as an accountant but spends free time either practising astrology or growing vegetables on her allotment in accordance with Moon cycles. Jadranka started to study astrology more than fifteen years ago with The Faculty of Astrological Studies. She was the Lodge’s Treasurer and is currently thee Beginner’s Class Tutor, as well as organiser of the annual Astrology and Healing Seminar.

Biography: Gill Dorren is Treasure of the Lodge and has been studying and practising Astrology for 30 years. She has particular interests in Cosmology (past and present)  and is keen to fuse astrology with current cosmological theory. And has given many lectures on this at the Lodge. She also loves the history of the 17th century and helped organise the Astrologers Feast to celebrate the  Lodges’ centenary at the Painters Hall, the original venue from the 17th century.

Biography: Mandi Lockley is a London-based-astrologer. As well as seeing clients, she teaches for the Academy of Astrology UK. Her articles have appeared in the AA Journal, Infinity Astrological Magazine, on Astro Dienst and on her Astroair blog.

Biography: Israel Ajose D.Psych.Astrol  is an astrological teacher, transpersonal therapist consultant, and director of Astrology of the (Psyche) Soul, and has been practicing since 2007, after studying and completing full honours in psychological astrology at The Centre of Psychological Astrology. He is also the current secretary for the Astrological Lodge of London.

Biography: Vicky Maloney has been interested in Astrology for more than 30 years. Her serious study began when she enrolled with the CPA in February 1989. After receiving their certificate she went to teach a beginner’s class at Biddenham College in Bedford. She holds workshops and classes, sees clients and has recently completed the LSA’s Apprenticeship Programme.

Holding that crystal can help access the energy of the planetary placement. A selection of crystals will be brought to the talk so attendees can feel some of those that resonate with their horoscopes.

Biography: A scientist turned astrologer. With a degree in Physiology and Biochemistry and a doctorate in endocrinology, the study of hormones, Patricia worked in scientific research and then the pharmaceutical industry. An increasing spiritual awareness led her to study astrology and she gained her diploma from the White Eagle School of Astrology. Her first book Housing your Planets: everyday interpretations and spiritual perspectives was published in 2015. Her latest book Astrology, Crystals and Spirituality was published in 2017.

Lucien WindrichJack the Ripper continues to hold the public consciousness to this day. The English artist Walter Sickert is a likely suspect but you, the Lodge audience, must decide.

Synopsis: An astro-forensic profile on the English artist Walter Sickert who made a name for himself as Jack the Ripper. It’s amazing how he got hold of the public consciousness even after all this time. Having looked at the astrological evidence through the prejudicial light of a dark lantern, you, the Lodge audience, will decide whether he is in fact the Ripper or not.

Biography: Lucien worked as a professional musician for many years and began studying astrology seriously in the early 90’s. He completed the Diploma with the Faculty of Astrological Srudies in 1994, and for a few years worked as a production editor for the Astrology Quarterly. Lucien is currently researching the golden section in astrology, and the significance of floating lumps of rock in the Kuiper Belt.  He has a degree in anthropology, and lives in London with his wife and three children.

Synopsis: To be human is to experience grief, panic and a whole host of not particularly pleasant but often useful, psychological symptoms but what about when one’s problems interfere with leading a ‘normal’ life?  Or when they invite labels from psychiatrists and  heavy medication?  Tonight Sue will  share charts of people who have had diagnoses such as depression, OCD, bi-polar and various psychotic states and discuss the astrology of these.

Biography: Sue Tompkins is a teacher, consultant and homeopath who has been involved with
astrology since the early 70s. Known for ‘Aspects in Astrology’ and ‘The Contemporary Astrologer’s Handbook’, she lectures widely at home and abroad and has been honoured with awards including The Charles Harvey Award in 2003. www.suetompkins.com

Biography: Chris Mitchell has had a life-long interest in astrology, and is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Leicester looking at Jewish and Arabic influences in English medieval astrology. He holds the Diploma in Medieval Astrology from Astrologos and has an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath Spa University College. He is a regular speaker at a number of astrology groups and conferences worldwide, and has written a number of published articles both for astrological publications and the local press.

Biography:Trav’s interest in astrology started in childhood. He became a devotee of traditional astrology in 1990 and studied under many traditional astrologers. For several years he has run his “Astrological Explorers” group in Sussex, talks at local groups and runs workshops

Synopsis: In this lecture Dragana will present a thought provoking and rich profile of a man whose influence shaped and informed the fashion industry – the name ‘Christian Dior’ trips off the tongue and is synonymous with fashion.  As a world class designer, the elegance and flair of his creations shine out as truly unique and ground breaking.

Dragana will draw upon Christian Dior’s autobiography ‘Dior by Dior’ to weave her own unique fabric, linking aspects of the book with the great man’s natal chart.In 1947 Dior launched the “New Look”, a unique fashion style which revolutionized women’s dress after World War II. Initially women protested because he used a voluminous amount of fabric, covering their legs, but quickly his new style spread all over the whole world. Dior died suddenly when he was only 52 years old, within just 10 years of launching his famous haute couture Dior company.  Beside his natal chart, transits of slow planets in the crucial moments of his life will be discussed.

Biography: Dragana Van de moortel-Ilić holds a Diploma from the Faculty of Astrological Studies, London, UK, where she has been an active mentor since 2002. She also completed a MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. From 1991 onwards she has worked as a freelance consultant in Novi Sad, Serbia and Ghent, Belgium.

Website: Over the years, there have been certain Hollywood movie stars or moguls who have outraged or shocked the world with their wild or criminal activities. This shortlist will include some famous names, many of whom you will know. Sue will conduct a Lodge audience discussion on their charts.

Biography: Sue has been a professional astrologer, lecturer, and tarot consultant for more than 25 years in private practice in London, UK. She teaches astrology for both the Faculty of Astrological Studies, where she trained, and the London School of Astrology (LSA). She will be lead tutor in a new online astrology school – Academy of Astrology, starting in January 2017.  www.academyofastrology.co.uk She also teaches courses in the tarot for the LSA and elsewhere in London. Sue gained a distinction for her Cultural Astronomy and Astrology MA dissertation (for the Sophia Centre) in 2007, which was on the links between astrology and tarot in the 19th century. Her beginners book, Astrology Decoded, was published in 2013 by Rider/Random House to critical acclaim and is a Faculty recommended book. She is currently working on her next astrology book.
