SUMMARY:The Phases of the Superior Planets
DESCRIPTION:18:00: Astrological Chart Discussion \n\n\n\n18:45: Tea Break \n\n\n\n19:15: The Phases of the Superior Planets: Bernard Eccles \n\n\n\nMars square Sun? Actually\, it’s the other way round\, because the Sun is the faster moving body. All the aspects between the Sun and the superior planets are formed that way: and even more confusingly\, they seem to form clockwise instead of the anticlockwise direction of the zodiac. Should this affect our interpretation? Bernard thinks so. \n\n\n\n20:15: Questions / Discussion \n\n\n\nPLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT IS IN PERSON ONLY AND WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE ON ZOOM. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBernard EcclesBernard Eccles has been writing\, teaching and lecturing about astrology for over forty years. He was President of the Astrological Lodge of London twice in the 1980s\, won the Astrological Association’s Charles Harvey award in 2011\, and is a regular guest lecturer at the Faculty of Astrological Studies Summer School at Oxford. His magazine horoscope columns appear in eight different languages around the world.

SUMMARY:The Lord of the Orb
DESCRIPTION:19:15: The Lord of the Orb: Anthony Louis \n\n\n\nThe idea of planetary hours dates back at least to the Babylonians\, who assigned rulership of each hour of day and night to one of the classical seven visible planets in Chaldean order from the slowest to the fastest. The position of the Sun in the sky indicated the hour\, and the planetary ruler of that hour was considered the lord of the entire celestial sphere (aka orb)\, influencing the entire universe for the duration of that hour. Horary astrologers looked for some resonance between the lord of the orb and the Ascendant of a horary chart to assess whether the chart was radical. Medieval astrologers\, such as Abu Ma’shar\, used a profected version of the lord of the orb together with the lord of the year (the ruler of the profected natal Ascendant) to delineate solar returns. Despite discussions of lord of the orb in medieval and Renaissance texts by Bonatti\, Abenragel\, Giuntini\, Galluci\, Diego de Torres and others\, somehow the use of the lord of the orb did not make its way into the English-speaking world. This presentation attempts to fill in those gaps. \n\n\n\n20:15: Questions / Discussion / Charts discussion \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAnthony LouisAnthony Louis is a psychiatrist who has studied astrology as a serious avocation since his early teens. His longstanding interest in the history and symbolism of the divinatory arts has led to his lecturing internationally and publishing numerous articles and books on astrology\, tarot\, and other forms of divination. His highly acclaimed text Tarot Plain and Simple first appeared in 1997 and has become a perennial favourite for students of tarot. His most recent book Secrets of Predictive Astrology discusses the work of the relatively unknown but brilliant early 20th century British astrologer William Frankland. Anthony is a member of the Astrological Society of Connecticut. His blog is at http://tonylouis.wordpress.com/

SUMMARY:Composite Charts: You\, Me\, and the Invisible We
DESCRIPTION:19:15: Composite Charts: You\, Me\, and the Invisible We: Sheila Roher \n\n\n\nAs astrologers\, we routinely use natal charts and chart synastry to explore relationship issues. That is\, we study the ‘you’ and ‘me’ of relationship dynamics. But the composite chart\, created from midpoints\, shows that each relationship has its own energy fields\, with its own needs and demands. In this talk\, we’ll explore how composite charts can provide unique insights into the nature and timing of relationship issues. We’ll also (briefly) compare the composite technique to the Davison relationship chart. \n\n\n\n20:15: Questions / Discussion / Chart discussion \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSheila RoherSheila Roher\, based in the USA\, has been studying astrology for four decades. In recent years she studied horary with the STA and has published articles in the Skyscript and OPA newsletters. She has a private consulting practice\, and hosts an online astrological book club\, Reading Lilly\, which is now diving into vol. 3 of Christian Astrology (Lilly’s book on nativities).
