Sharon is passionate about the role astrology can play in understanding ourselves and help navigate the ways of the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConverse Progressions – Patricia Godden\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConverse progressions are one of the tools that can be used in prognostication. They are derived by looking at the position of the planets one day for every year of the life before birth. While converse progressions can be used in understanding the timing of events\, they may also indicate the karmic background of those events. Examples will illustrate use of converse progressions in individual lives and national affairs. \n\n\n\n\n\nPatricia GoddenPatricia Godden BSc PhD dipWESA FAPAI is a professional astrologer who gained a diploma from the White Eagle School of Astrology (WESA) in 2007. She is tutor on the WESA Beginner’s Course as well as having her own introductory course\, which is available via her website. She has a particular interest in spiritual astrology and the purpose of the soul. Patricia has written three books: Housing Your Planets: everyday interpretations and spiritual perspectives\, Astrology\, Crystals and Spirituality and Seeking the Soul: through meditation on draconic astrology. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAge Progression – Faye Blake\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe horoscope can be seen as a clock. This idea was developed further in the 60’s by Bruno Huber a Swiss astrologer who developed the technique of Age Progression and the Age Point which in his view highlights psychological development. Faye will briefly explain the 72-year Huber cycle and provide case studies showing that it has relevance for companies and countries as well as individuals. She has used this technique for over 35 years and has found it one of the most useful tools in the Astro toolkit. Her dissertation for her MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology offered a model for organisational development based on this idea. One of her papers also researched experiences of clients at age 45\, a particularly interesting time\, using this system. \n\n\n\n\n\nFaye BlakeNew Zealand-born Faye Blake offers an innovative mix of services: she’s a counselling astrologer and therapist\, and she’s also a business consultant who offers original ways to use astrology in the working environment. A hands-on approach to vocational astrology has made Faye a sought-after speaker at schools and conferences internationally. Her book ‘Vocational Astrology’ forms the basis of her tailor-made Vocational Apprenticeship program. Faye is a passionate advocate of the Huber Life Clock method and for using Ceres\, who is now a dwarf planet. She is the founder of the Amsterdam School of Astrology in The Netherlands. Faye holds an M.A. in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology. There will also be a look at the seventeenth-century benefactor Elias Ashmole\, who founded the Ashmolean museum in Oxford\, and his connection with this strange magical book. \n\n\n\n\n\nChris MitchellChris Mitchell has a PhD from the University of Leicester on the topic ofmedieval astrology and an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology from Bath SpaUniversity College. Because it was thought to link the sky to the earth\, it was once widely used in the making of magical talismans\, and for a form of divination which required no calculation. Much favoured by renaissance occultists such as Cornelius Agrippa and Robert Fludd\, it fell from favour at the start of the seventeenth century. Its vocabulary is the same as that of traditional astrology – planets and signs – but underneath that top layer are traces of something much earlier\, based on direct sky observation\, which may be a thousand years older\, or even more. This talk looks at its techniques and practice in its medieval heyday\, suggests some reasons why it fell from favour\, and takes a tentative peek into its earlier forms. \n\n\n\n\n\nBernard EcclesBernard Eccles has been writing\, teaching and lecturing about astrology for over forty years. He was President of the Astrological Lodge of London twice in the 1980s\, won the Astrological Association’s Charles Harvey award in 2011\, and is a regular guest lecturer at the Faculty of Astrological Studies Summer School at Oxford. His magazine horoscope columns appear in eight different languages around the world. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n17:15: Astrological Magic: How does it work and how do we work with it?\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe revival of astrological magic\, which Chris set in motion two decades ago\, is now in full swing having been embraced by the astrological community. But how does it work? Generally this question is ignored or answered with “energy”\, but there are alternative explanations. Causality turns out to be the pivotal factor in astrological magic practice and as we explore the various options\, we see that our underlying model determines practical issues like coordinating with the natal chart\, as well as choosing and using talismans. Also key\, is the acceptance of validity of different models and approaches. Rather than setting forth one “correct” model or approach\, this presentation will discuss modern and traditional views of causality and models for the use of talismans\, as well as practical natal chart examples and in-depth discussion of types of astrological talismans: planetary (including our talismans in the British Museum)\, fixed star and constellation\, Mansions of the Moon and house based talismans. \n\n\n\n\n\nChristopher WarnockChristopher Warnock has been a traditional astrologer and Renaissance astrological magician since 1998. He has been called “the father of the traditional astrological magic revival” and the “elder statesman” of astrological magic. With John Michael Greer\, Mr. Warnock translated the Latin Picatrix\, the most important grimoire of traditional astrological magic and has written and published many books on astrological magic and traditional astrology. DESCRIPTION:19:00: The Great Attractor \n\n\n\nThis session will discuss The Great Attractor\, the Great Wall of galaxies that our own galaxy is travelling towards\, which lies at 15° Sagittarius. \n\n\n\nWe will also look at The Vela Wall and The Hercules Borealis\, the two largest structures in the sky\, and look at the myths and legends attached to them to debate how these discoveries and others will affect our art. \n\n\n\nOnce again\, bring your charts for the discussion. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGill DorrenGill Dorren has been studying and practising astrology for 30 years and is the current Vice President of the Astrological Lodge of London. She has particular interests in Cosmology (past and present) and is keen to fuse astrology with current cosmological theory\, and has given many lectures on this at the Lodge. Gill is also the co-editor of the Astrology Quarterly.
